Let’s judge a book by its cover

Finally we could put a face to the name we’re so familiar with. David Pearson, the graphic designer behind Penguin book covers has successfully injected new life into the classic penguin books. It’s probably not the easiest to stomach the content of the Great Ideas Books series containing essays on Philosophy, Science and Politics by great thinkers of the [...]

This May I

This is a sneak preview of what we’re currently working on. PARCO next NEXT! is putting up a dramatic show at the upcoming Audi Fashion Festival in May. It’s going to be exciting!

So it’s finally done! We’re thrilled to show you a preview of the AFX Press Conference collateral. The press conference was this morning, held at *Scape. Along with that, we were commissioned to create a sub-branding guide for the four pillar events happening under the umbrella of Asia Fashion Exchange. Do check the website to find [...]

Habitat 67

Habitat 67 by Moshe Safdie, via Halycon Days. I’m liking this blog very quickly. This would be one of the big reasons to go to Montreal next. Gags is the other.

National Film Theatre

How old do you think this logo is? It still looks strong and iconic till this day.

Old School Type

These are some visual treats for the old-school typographer in you. This is very serious for us, it’s a constant reminder that the computer doesn’t rule all the time. Some things are just different created by hand. The pictures were shot while wandering the streets of Europe. Notice how the middle bar of the letter ‘E’ [...]

Bloom Cambodia

This is our very first pro bono project for the society. We’ve always been wanting to contribute to the society. In what better way than we know how – with our skills. There are many volunteering opportunities/ programmes for the many various social issues in the world, some with lasting and effective results, the others [...]

PARCO nextNEXT! PHENOMENA

THIS is what we’ve been busy with lately. The brief was pretty much open and we decided for a neon colour handout, hoping to achieve a stunning effect against the black chairs. Anyways, it was a great show put together by Parco Millenia Singapore and produced by our friend from 1-werks. I’m going to bug Jeremy [...]

Homemade Letterpress Project Part III

The package finally arrived! It’s beautiful, and so delicate. We spent a few hours just sorting out the many many different parts and tools. The font type is called Stymie Light.

Restored lampe

Really can’t remember how I came across this.. I’m appreciating the details of these restored lamps, using aged industrial parts. For some reason, they remind me of a man with a gentlemanly character. I’m admiring the black wire braided twists, to the brass engraved joint and parts. The clamps on some of the other lamps [...]

In Cherry, Mohogany and Grey

Some nice pieces at Rainer Spehl. What a charming green door too. Check the Stelzen chair, it’s ironically as chic as it is rugged.

Homemade Letterpress Project Part II

Hello welcome back! Now we begin part two of our letterpress project. Part one was a success so hopefully part two will be too! So now, we begin the process of the top part of the letterpress machine/chop as well as working on the hinges (that was a big headache!)

YEOK LAN BEAUTY SALOON

It was a glorious day! We had just finished a meeting at 1-Werks, and just as we stepped out, the Yeok Lan Beauty Saloon sign was just being taken down. We had been eyeing this sign the very first time we set foot in Yong Siak Street. So when the guy had just pulled it [...]

*Scape Halloween

So. We were commissioned to work on *Scape’s Halloween 2010. The idea is a halloween circus theme, we would like it to be fun-filled, and unexpected. A little dark whimsical and awkward. But client needed it more horror and Halloween scary. The above is the product of the illustration piece!
